Reset An Expired Password

Resetting Your Password


You may find that you are certain you remember your password, but still are not able to get into your NWIC online accounts. If you think it's been over a year since you last set-up or reset your password, then it's time to reset it.

 

Step By Step Guide


1. You can log into password reset with this link password.nwic.edu or click on the Help header on the NWIC main page and click Self-Service Password Reset, like below.

2. From here, enter in your username, then your old password. Even though the password may have expired, you should still be able to log into the portal.

 

For students: username@students.nwic.edu

For staff: username@nwic.edu

3. Once you are on the homepage, navigate to the top right and click Change/Reset password. Please note that the wording may be different than the box below (since my password isn't expired). However, the password reset button is in the same place.

*If you password is not expired, it will tell you how many days are left until it expires. We recommend resetting your password if it is within 30 days.*

4. A box will pop up that will prompt you to enter your old password, then enter enter a new one. Be aware that that there are password requirements-- please click the the Password Policy option as shown below to learn more. Make sure to write this password down somewhere you can find again, or you can use a password manager Links to an external site. to help you keep track of all your passwords.

If you have not already done so, you will need to register for self-service password reset. If you are not sure if you've registered, you can look at the box highlighted below, which tells you your status.
